Early Life and Education

Bimbo Thomas was born in Lagos State, Nigeria, on September 29, 1981. She grew up in a family of seven and is of Yoruba heritage. Showing an early interest in the arts, she went on to study Creative Arts at the University of Lagos, where she developed her foundation in acting and performance.

Career

Thomas began her acting journey as a trainee with the Odun Ifa Group, a theatre ensemble where she sharpened her craft before transitioning fully into Nollywood films. Over the years, she has appeared in a wide range of movies, frequently showcasing her ability to perform diverse character types across genres.

Breakthrough and Notable Work

Her breakthrough role came with the 2010 film Omo Ghetto, directed and produced by Funke Akindele, where she played the character Nikky. The success of this film cemented her recognition in Nollywood, and she reprised this character in the blockbuster sequel Omo Ghetto: The Saga in 2020.

Personal Life

Bimbo is a mother, and though she keeps details about her family relatively private, she has shared personal moments such as losing her mother with her fans.
