David Mann (born David Anthony Mann Sr. on August 7, 1966 in Fort Worth, Texas) is an acclaimed American actor, gospel singer, and comedian, best known for his endearing portrayal of Leroy “Mr. Brown” in Tyler Perry’s stage plays and films, including Madea’s Family Reunion, Meet the Browns, Madea Goes to Jail, and the upcoming Madea’s Destination Wedding . Married to fellow performer Tamela Mann since 1988, the duo first collaborated as members of Kirk Franklin’s gospel ensemble “The Family” before becoming staples in Perry’s works . Beyond acting, David has also released gospel music, received an NAACP Image Award for Meet the Browns (TV), and continues to entertain audiences through his music, family sitcom Mann & Wife, and his heartfelt on-screen chemistry with his wife
